The 6th grade at the MSU Chinese School is a time of great progress. After just a few years of experience learning the Chinese language, most students have developed the ability to listen and speak. Regarding the four respects of learning Chinese: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, the focus will rely more heavily on Reading and Writing.
The goal for 6th grade students is to succeed in writing characters and developing compositions. Students will practice oral composition in each class, and every other week they will write a composition. The expansion of students’ overall knowledge is also an important aspect. Information regarding Chinese History will also be introduced in class.
By the end of the school year, students will be able to write characters as well as develop simple compositions. Students will also show great overall progress in areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
