Practical Chinese class is a designed for students without any Chinese language experience at home. This class is devoted to giving students unique and individual instruction based on student progress. Our interactive and engaging learning environment ensures active learning and undivided attention. During the course, we will teach students about Chinese culture along with Chinese language: speaking, reading, and writing.
The goal of this class is to finish Textbook One within two years and, if possible, start Textbook Two as a way to introduce children to different aspects of Chinese language and culture. In doing so we hope to increase their abilities and interests in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Chinese. Active student participation in speaking, reading, and writing Chinese would, as in all languages, augment their abilities. Thus, we promote eager and active students. Classroom activities will be engaging and fun, yet at the same time constructive and meaningful. We hope to make the children more interested in learning, acquire an awareness and appreciation of other cultures, enhance their understanding of the Chinese language, motivate them to pursue studying language, and use Chinese to communicate will new people. Foremost, however, we emphasize fluent language use and cultural appreciation.
